UK Police in London have said that two adolescents who are accused of committing acts of extreme right-wing terrorism will be facing “very serious charges” when they appear in court on Friday.
An 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old woman were charged on Thursday, according to the Metropolitan Police (the Met), after its Counter Terrorism Command section conducted a “proactive investigation.”
In violation of the 2006 Terrorism Act, Rex William Henry Clark of Ilford, east London, was accused of planning terrorist activities.
Sofija Vinogradova, of Cheshunt, north of London, was charged by police with two charges of gathering information that would be helpful to someone planning or carrying out a terrorist attack, as well as preparation of terrorist activities.
They are both being held and are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday. The inquiry “is related to suspected extreme right-wing terrorism activity,” according to police.

Commander Dominic Murphy, the head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, stated, “These are extremely serious charges, but I would urge the public to not speculate about this case any further at this time and allow the criminal justice process to run its course unimpeded.”
He went on, “I want to reassure the public that although our investigation is still ongoing, we do not currently believe that there is a wider threat related to this investigation.”
After three girls were stabbed at a dancing lesson in Southport, northwest England, far-right riots recently erupted across England and Northern Ireland.
Murphy said that the probe was not the result of the chaos that followed the horrific events in Southport and spread around the nation. On August 4, police first detained the lady on suspicion of having a gun.
On August 10, she was detained again after being granted bail. At the same house, the 18-year-old guy was also taken into custody, and they were both brought to a police station in London.
